Eric Garcia has had a 'dream summer'

Eric Garcia is on international duty with the Spanish national side with vital qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar coming up. The Barça defender appeared in front of the media on Tuesday and spoke about his arrival at FC Barcelona and how the campaign has started. 

"Despite the fact that last season I maybe did not play as much as my team mates, this summer I have been involved in Euro 2022 and the Olympic Games but I feel good physically and mentally," said the Barça centre half who came to the Club in the summer from Manchester City. 

On his summer, the defender continued: "I have had a dream summer: Barça calling, Euro 2022, doing well in that tournament and then the Olympic Games. Starting the season with Barça and being here with the national team is something I could only have dreamt of." 

The blaugrana centre back appeared positive about recent career decisions. "I am very happy with the changes I have made. Playing in Euro 2022, the Olympics, making my Barça debut...a lot of changes but all of them positive. I am really excited but it is only the start of the season with the national team and the with Barça," he added. 

After making his debut for Barça against Real Sociedad in La Liga and appearing against Athletic also, Eric Garcia faces three important fixtures with the national side as Luis Enrique's team take on Sweden, Georgia and Kosovo in World Cup qualifiers for Qatar 2022.
