This Tuesday, the Barça women held an official training session on the field at Providence Park de Portland, the venue for the semi-final of the International Champions Cup on Wednesday against Olympique Lyonnais (5.36pm local time / 2.36am Thursday morning CEST).
The 20,000 capacity stadium has an artificial grass pitch.
At the end of the second workout on US soil, coach Jonatan Giráldez and captain Alexia Putellas spoke to the media.
Jonatan Giráldez
"We have to view things relatively. At the end of the day it is a preseason game to continue preparations for a demanding season ahead. But the fact is that because of the venue and the opponent, it will will be a tense, interesting game that’s going to be nice to watch."
"The key is to control the game and to play the way we know best."
Alexia Putellas
"Budapest was very different. That was a Champions League Final. Now this is a preseason game. It’s a question of building out fitness and it’s better to do that against a great side like Lyon".
"We will go out to win, but let’s not forget that this is a preseason game and the main goal is to hit our best form for when competitive games start.”
