First training session of preseason

After undergoing health and fitness checks over the weekend, on Monday the first team squad returned to training at the Ciutat Esportiva. 

At around 9.30am CEST Dest, Piqué, Pjanić, Riqui Puig, Neto, S. Roberto, Umtiti, Iñaki Peña, Arnau Tenas, Álex Collado, Gavi, Comas, Nico and Yusuf Demir took to the field to begin the 2021/22 preseason. 

Brazilian Philippe Coutinho trained apart from the rest of the squad and the players will return to the Ciutat Esportiva for another session on Tuesday, also at 9.30am CEST. 

President Laporta visits the squad

Before starting the first session of the preseason the FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta dropped by the Ciutat Esportiva to visit the first team squad. 

First friendlies

The first test of preseason will come on Wednesday 21 July against Gimnàstic de Tarragona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (kick off, 7pm CEST). On Saturday 24 July they will then take on Girona also at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (kick off, 7pm CEST).
