Memphis on fire for Holland
Memphis Depay is the man of the moment. Not only has he been announced as Barça’s latest star signing, but he is also having a tremendous Euro 2020, having scored two goals and assisted another as Holland cruised into the last 16 with three wins out of three (against Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia).
28 goals and 22 assists
He was already a regular choice under Ronald Koeman and still is now that Frank de Boer is in charge, fielding him as a central forward but giving him freedom of movement. Memphis fired in his 28th goal for the national side. Coupled with 22 assists, that means he has now contributed to 50 goals in his 67 games for the 'oranje'.
Second goal + assist
Depay had a goal and assist against North Macedonia, matching his achievement in a game at the 2014 World Cup. In fact, Wesley Sneijder (at Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup) is the only player who had achieved the feat before in a games for the Netherlands at both major tournamenta.
