OGC Nice exercises right to purchase Jean-Clair Todibo
OGC Nice has reported to FC Barcelona that it shall exercise its right to purchase Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been playing on loan to the French club since the end of the 20/21 season. The operation is valued at 8.5 million euros, plus a further 7 million euros in variables. The Catalan club withholds a percentage on any future sale of the player.
FC Barcelona wishes to publicly state its gratitude to Jean-Clair Todibo for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the very best of success in the future.
The French defender joined FC Barcelona during the 2018/19 winter transfer window, and made his debut in week 32 against Huesca. He also started the game at Celta in week 36, meaning he played a part in the 2018/19 league championship winning campaign. For the second half of the 2019/20 season, Todibo went out on loan to Schalke 04.
He began the 2020/21 season at Benfica. In February, FC Barcelona and the Portuguese club agreed to end the loan deal and Jean-Clair Todibo went on loan to OGC Nice until June 30
