Barça Cafe, the new emblematic restaurant at Camp Nou
The Barça Café is the new offering from eating and restaurants from FC Barcelona that is to be open to the public from Saturday 15 May with the aim of extending the services at Camp Nou and improving the gastronomic options. The new area - based on the boulevard with the ticket offices by Access Point 9, next to the entrance to the Barça Museum - is a welcoming sportsbar with a blaugrana theme with a gastronomic offering that is based on distinctive elements of Catalan cuisine.
The establishment is managed by Singularis, the premier catering division of the Serunion group, and has more than 500m2 of floor space and inclding the bar area, the lounge and the terrace it has room for 170 customers. The decor is pure Barça and Barcelona in every sense. The 'blaugrana' colours, the footballing themes, the patterned tile and the Gaudi mosaic are elements that are present throughout the space. Furthermore, there are lamps in the shape of footballs and on the tables are printed legendary quotes from the Barça players from over the years. Memorabilia, including shirts dot the walls of the space and there are dozen of photographs as well of the first team players.
The Barça Café is born out of the desire to give Culers a meeting point both on match days at Camp Nou as well as on days when the team is playing away from home, given that the bar has big screens available to allow patrons to enjoy the game as well as the food and drink on offer. The menu is designed by the Iglesias brothers (Grupo Iglesias), based on fresh, local produce.
The players' favourite dishes
The menu at Barça Cafe includes some of the favourite dishes of the first team players; health recipes recommended by the FC Barcelona nutritionists and ut together in conjunction with Beko as part of the Eat like a Pro programme. Demblélé's pizza margarita, Jordi Alba's gazpacho with tuna or the baked salmon with potatoes and courgettes from Leo Messi are just some of the dishes that visitors can enjoy, just like Ronald Koeman's men. On match days at Camp Nou the Barça Cafe will offer a service based on products to take away to cater to the needs of match day customers.
Due to the current health restrictions, the Barça Cafe will be open only at the weekend, as the Museum and Club Store. FC Barcelona members will have a 10% discount if they show their member's card.
Open doors at the Museum on Saturday 15
FC Barcelona will be celebrating the opening of the new space with an open doors day at the Barça Museum on Saturday 15 May from 10.00am to 10.00pm CEST and the Barça Cafe will be open until 11.00pm CEST. The objective is, given the restrictions on capacity currently in place for health reasons, as many people as possible can discover this new restaurant service at Camp Nou. Tickets are available for free entry to the Museum via the Club website and ticket offices. The Barça Store will also be open at Camp Nou from 11.00am to 11.00pm CEST.
Project delayed due to the pandemic
The work for the project began in February 2020 but were then halted in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was not until October that work recommenced and carried out until May, opening month.
For the project, FC Barcelona are collaborating with Singularis, the company in charge of the space's management, an important partner with extensive knowledge and experience in the restaurant business in order to guarantee quality.
The first step in the Barça Rambla
The Barça Cafe will be the crowning glory of the future Barça Rambla, the complete remodelling of the ticket office boulevard around Access Point 9 that will give visitors a new way of experiencing the Club's facilities, recreating the essence of a 'Rambla', based on shared space and relaxing, fun atmosphere. The Club is currently working towards opening this new space in the next few months and it will help not just to extend the food and drink options at Camp Nou, especially take away, but also offer more leisure attractions.
