Messi, a specialist in scoring against Atlético Madrid
When we talk about goals we always have to mention the name of Leo Messi, something that is reinforced when the Argentine star faces Atlético Madrid, one of his favourite victims.
This Saturday May 8 (4.15pm CET), the FC Barcelona captain will look to extend his scoring record against the Rojiblancos. With 32 goals, 26 of them in LaLiga, in 42 games, the team from Madrid is his second favourite victim behind Sevilla.
❗ Get comfortable and grab some popcorn to watch the video that shows each and every one of Messi's 32 goals against Atlético.
It should also be noted that Atlético Madrid are the only opponent that have conceded three hat-tricks from the Argentinian. They are also the side whom he scored his first free-kick against, and last Sunday, May 2, he reached fifty for the club with his great strike against Valencia.
Win again
Against Simeone's men, Messi is sure to have a point to prove. After losing in the game at the Wanda Metropolitano, a win is necessary to keep title hopes alive. In LaLiga, and without counting the defeat earlier this season, Messi hadn't lost against Atléti since February 14, 2010.
What's more, he's only lost one league game at the Camp Nou against Atlético, which came on February 5, 2006. Since then, he has been involved in 13 wins and six draws, and this Saturday, Leo Messi will want to continue the unbeaten streak.
