Barça to face Atlético Madrid in blaugrana/senyera shirt
For the game against Atlético Madrid this coming Saturday 8 May, FC Barcelona will once again be wearing the special edition of the shirt combining the blaugrana colours with the stripes of the Catalan flag. The women’s team will also be wearing the shirt in the final stages of the Copa de la Reina, provided they get past Sevilla in the quarter finals.
The club had originally only planned to wear the shirt in April’s Clásico against Real Madrid, but has reviewed its decision after the Barcelona Supporter Services Office (OAB) received numerous inquiries.
The design showcases ‘Culer’ character and the pride of being part of Barça, together with loyalty to the club’s roots and its close associations to Catalonia, respecting the tradition of vertical stripes but exceptionally including the red and yellow stripes of the ‘senyera’ together with the club’s traditional colours.
These lines begin at the bottom of the shirt and gradually fade up towards the chest, while different blue tones suggest the outline of the flag, reaching as far as the yellow-trimmed neck.
The Barça crest is in its usual place, with the Nike and Rakuten logos also appearing on the front, Beko on the sleeve and UNICEF on the back, all in yellow like the neck. The kit is completed by blue shorts, which follow the same tones as the shirt, while the colours of the Catalan flap wrap around the blue socks.
Women’s team too
Due to the large number of requests, the club has also created an adaptation of the women’s shirt, featuring the name of the team’s main partner, STANLEY, on the front, the idea being for the team to wear it in the final stages of the Copa de la Reina, provided they are able to beat Sevilla on May 5.
On sale to fans
The blaugrana/senyera shirts are available from the Barça Store in Passeig de Gràcia (Barcelona) and also via the club’s e-commerce and other channels.
The 800 remaining units have the Rakuten logo on the front, as the STANLEY version has only been created for use by the team in games.
