A testament to his incredible talent and consistency, Leo Messi has scored 30 goals or more every season for the last 13 years. He reached 31 with his brace against Athletic Club this past weekend, in the Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja (won 0-4by Barça).
In addition, Messi is also the Copa del Rey's all-time top scorer, with 56 goals in 80 games in the competition.
Against Los Leones, the best player in the world took his tally for the season across all competitions to 31, divided up into:
- LaLiga: 23 goals
- Copa del Rey: 3 goals
- Champions League: 5 goals
Since scoring 38 times in the treble-winning 2008/09 season, the FC Barcelona forward has been racking up at least 30 goals per campaign. His most prolific season so far is 2011/12, when he found the net on an amazing 73 occasions.
