Leo Messi knows how to rise to the occasion. He has played in 33 different finals in the blaugrana jersey, winning 24 of his 34 trophies with the team, and has scored 29 goals in them. That’s 0.87 goals a game.

The Argentinian has found the target most in the Spanish Super Cup, with 13 goals (only missing the 2005/06 edition against Betis). He has played in three Champions League Finals (he missed the 2006 one against Arsenal through injury), scoring two goals.

Messi could have played in four Club World Cup Finals but he was absent in 2006 through injury. But in the three he did play in he scored four goals. He’s won the European Super Cup three times and lost it once, contributing three goals.

Copa del Rey

This Saturday will be his tenth appearance in the Copa del Rey final. He won six of the nine he’s played in before, and scored seven goals. Could there be more to come in the ninth final that Barça have played against Athletic Club?
