19 games unbeaten
Barça lost 2-1 to Cadiz on 5 December 2020, and it looked like all hope of winning La Liga had been lost. But Barça have made up for their slow start to the season in spectacular fashion and since then have gone for 19 games without defeat. A whole half of a season!
With Monday's win against Valladolid, that's 16 wins and just three draws (against Valencia, Eibar and in the return game with Cadiz), scoring 48 goals and conceding just 3. And it's sent Barça flying up to second in the table, just one behind leaders Atlético Madrid, who they still have to play.
Barça’s longest unbeaten runs
There is still a LONG way to go to match the club’s all-time record of 36 games without defeat. That was in 2017/18 under Ernesto Valverde, when defeat to Levante in the penultimate game prevented Barça from going a whole season without a single loss.
36 under Ernesto Valverde (2017/18)
31 under Pep Guardiola (2010/11)
23 under Ernesto Valverde (2018/19)
22 under Pep Guardiola (2008/09)
21 under Pep Guardiola (2009/10)
19 under Tito Vilanova (2012/13)
19 under Ronald Koeman (2020/21).
