Women's football: Santa Teresa 0-3 Barça

Alexia, Hermoso and Patri score the goals to maintain the perfect record in the domestic championship

The Barça women were in typically emphatic form on Saturday as they defeated Santa Teresa 3-0 in Badajoz, on a day when they showed their support for International Women’s Day on Monday by wearing commemorative shirts.

The side from Extremadura are rapidly improving, and this was no easy win despite Alexia opening the scoring very early on, following a nice piece of control by Jenni Hermoso.

It wouldn’t be until after half time that the lead was extended, Hermoso scoring off a corner. But the goal of the day came from Patri, who fired in almost from the centre circle to make it 3-0.

With the game decided, coach Lluis Cortés decided to make some changes and one of those was debutante Ariadna Mingueza, sister of none other than Òscar Mingueza.

Barça thus continue a perfect record in the Iberdrola League. 18 wins in 18 games, 80 goals scored and just three conceded. Wow!
