6-1 turnaround against PSG named Best Match Ever
Just over three months ago, on November 10, 2020, FC Barcelona kicked off the 'Best Match Ever' competition, in which fans could vote for the greatest Barça performance of all time through the club's official website. After 32 rounds, the winner has been decided: The 6-1 victory at the Camp Nou against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. Possibly the most famous game in club history, the epic encounter took place on March 8, 2017.
The famous ‘remontada’ gets a repeat
The legendary comeback bested another great Barça showing in the final: The 2-6 win over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu in 2008/09.
Ironically enough, the 6-1 game against PSG made a late comeback of its own, overcoming a deficit of over 200 votes to win by just under 100.
The final results were 4,355 votes to 4,277, from a total of 8,500 participants.
Adding together those for the final and the other rounds in 'Best Match Ever', the competition involved a total of 24,674 votes. Spain, the USA, India and Mexico were the countries with the most participants.
Prizes were available for those who cast their votes, and the winning entrants will be informed in the coming days.
The competition began with 32 games in contention, and all of them can be enjoyed in full on Barça TV+.
