A night of firsts for Barça

Good things come to those who wait. FC Barcelona achieved their first victory at Juventus on Wednesday, after six previous visits ended with three draws (two 1-1 and one 0-0, always in the Champions League) and three defeats (one in the Fairs Cup, one in the Cup Winners' Cup and one in the Champions League).

The 2-0 win, with goals from Dembélé and Messi, is also the first time that Barça have scored at least two goals at Juventus stadium. 

First win for Koeman in Italy

The win in Italy has broken even more unfavourable statistics, in this case for Ronald Koeman. The Dutch coach had never won, neither as a player nor as a coach, on Italian soil. He played in the country for a total of seven games, four of them in the 1990 World Cup, with a record of three draws and four defeats. Of these matches, one was with Barça, the second leg of the 1990/91 Cup Winners' Cup semifinals.

As a coach, Koeman's return was three draws and six defeats. No wins during his time at Vitesse, Ajax, PSV and Everton, or as the Dutch national team coach. Now, after his 17th visit to Italy, he can return home with a smile.

Braithwaite's Champions League debut

Martin Braithwaite, who played in the final moments of the match, therefore made his debut in the Champions League, a competition he had never played in before.

Ousmane Dembélé, who was one of the best players on the pitch at Juventus Stadium, also made history. With his goal, he now has two in two games in the Champions League, a feat he had never before achieved. If he remains free of injuries, it could be the Frenchman's year.
