Agreement with PSG for the transfer of Rafinha
FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Rafinha.
FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Rafinha for his commitment and dedication and it wishes him all the best for the future.
A life in blaugrana
Rafinha was just 13 when he first came to FC Barcelona. After rising through the youth ranks he made his first team debut on 9 November 2011. After a few years with Barça B and a few senior appearances, he went on loan to Celta Vigo in the 2013/14 season. He became a consolidated part of the first team squad under Luis Enrique, who had also coached him at Vigo in the summer of 2014.
Those three years with ‘Lucho’ were the ones when Rafinha saw the most first team action, but an injury suffered in Rome meant he was side-lined for 200 days from late 2015 to early 2016. A further injury sustained against Granada April in 2017 meant another long absence.
In January 2018, now over his injury, he left on loan to Inter Milan for the second half of the season, and returned for 2018/19. The Brazilian played nine games and scored one goal before going down with another serious injury against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. In 2019/20, he went on loan to Celta.
He leaves the club having played a part in winning eleven major trophies, including the Champions League, three Ligas and three editions of the Copa del Rey, having scored 12 goals in 89 games.
