Stat of the day | 14: Trophies won with Pep Guardiola as coach

After achieving promotion with Barça B in his first season as coach, Pep Guardiola made the step up to coach the first team. During his four seasons in charge FC Barcelona won 14 titles: three league titles, two Champions League, two Copa del Rey, three Spanish Super Cups, two European Super Cups and two FIFA World Club Cups. That total puts him three ahead of Johan Cruyff and five ahead of his former team mate Luis Enrique on the all time Barça list. 

An unbelievable first season

2009 was an amazing year for FC Barcelona. In his first season in charge Pep Guardiola completed a historic treble, winning the Copa del Rey, the league and the Champions League. That form continued into the 2009/10 season with Barça winning the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA World Club Cup, six trophies out of six, before the year was out. 

Approaching perfection

Guardiola's Barça team played some of the best football that has ever been seen with a golden generation from La Masia forming the backbone of the side. The likes of Valdés, Puyol, Piqué, Xavi, Iniesta and Messi were bolstered by youngsters breaking through such Busquets, Pedro and Sergi Roberto. There were games that have passed into legend at FC Barcelona: the 6-2 away win at Real Madrid in the league, Iniesta's heroics against Chelsea in the Champions League, the 5-0 over Real Madrid at Camp Nou and the victory over Manchester United in the 2011 Champions League final. 

A legacy to behold

In his four seasons as coach, Pep Guardiola led the side in 247 matches and his final win came in his final match as coach: the 3-0 win over Athletic in the 2012 Copa del Rey final. On an individual level, he was named as best coach by FIFA (2011), best coach by UEFA (2009 and 2011) and best coach in La Liga (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). Pep's Barça side and their football will never be forgotten.
