Clément Lenglet talks to Catalans on the front line of Covid-19
Clément Lenglet has spent confinement with his girlfriend at home in Barcelona, and has followed the news about the pandemic very closely. The Frenchman is very aware of the work done by those who fight every day on the front line because his mother is a nurse. He understands that these anonymous heroes are doing everything possible to help the most vulnerable people and all those who have suffered from the disease and its effects.
Lenglet had the idea to speak with some people after watching the video 'Heroes of Sant Jordi' that the club published to thank them for their efforts, and in which some Barça legends, such as Puyol, Kluivert, Chapi Ferrer, Stoichkov, Sergi Barjuan, Saviola and Migueli participated.
Barça also contacted workers through 'Culers action against Covid-19,' promoted through the Foundation's Twitter, to personalise the stories of members of the Barça family who are contributing to the fight against coronavirus. This is the case for Míriam Gallana, coach of Barça Women's U11 team and a social worker in a nursing home; of Josep Parera, a member of the club since he was born and a psychologist in a nursing home; of Leopoldo Higa, Barça U18 coach and emergency doctor at the Hospital de Sant Pau and Pere Bosquet, Head Coach Barça Academy Haikou, who has gone through three confinements and is now helping to make masks with his mother and aunt, members of the Solidary Seamstresses, while waiting to return to China.
The French defender had a virtual talk with all of them and wanted to know the human stories that they have experienced and the life lessons they have learned. "With Covid-19 we are having a pretty hard time and everyone is supporting each other, which we may not have done until recently. I hope it stays like this when the virus passes and we return to normal,” Lenglet said.
