- Efficient lighting: The lighting installed is 100% LED throughout the building. It’s the 1st FC Barcelona Stadium with pitch LED floodlighting.
- Better outdoor comfort: To take advantage of the natural breezes and moderate temperatures of the Mediterranean climate, a large part of the spaces on the ground level will be open to the exterior.
- Spectator comfort: The new roof will enhance the experience of the fans while providing more comfort, allowing for ideal viewing conditions for the fans and growing conditions for the pitch. Also, it will protect spectators from the wind, rain and the hot summer sun.
- Urban integration: The design of the exterior urbanization blends in with the newly developed neighbourhood, giving a sense of continuity to all the new streets and public spaces.
- Smart operations: Once completed, an integrated building management system (BMS) allow for a more efficient operation of all buildings and events on the premises.
- Efficient water use: The rainwater that falls on the roof and the urbanization is captured in large tanks and used for the bathrooms of the Stadium. Efficient water fixtures will be installed in the building to reduce the consumption of municipal potable water.
- Enhanced accessibility: The design considers access for people with different abilities and for people with wheelchairs. Specific wheelchair positions are democratically distributed.
