Games against Mallorca and Leganés without fans
La Liga has officially announced that the next two rounds of league fixtures in the First and Second Divisions in Spain will be played behind closed doors as a preventative measure against the spread of the coronavirus. The decision will affect weeks 28 and 29 in the fixture calendar with Tuesday's rearranged game between Eibar and Real Sociedad being played behind closed doors. As a result, Barça's games against Mallorca in the Son Moix stadium and the game against Leganés at Camp Nou will be played behind closed doors.
A press release from La Liga, who are "in permanent contact with the Health Ministry", outlines the measures set out by the Spain's highest sporting administrative body the 'Consejo Superior de Deportes' that aim to prevent and contain the spread of the coronavirus. la Liga has also announced that " as of a few weeks ago alternative plans in coordination with UEFA are being worked on for the rearrangement of matches should the health authorities decide to postpone fixtures."
Barça v Napoli also behind closed doors
The rise of coronavirus cases across Europe has affected various sporting events. On Tuesday it was announced that the second leg of Barça's last 16 Champions League tie against Napoli will also be played behind closed doors, a decision taken by the Club following advice from the Generalitat, the Catalan Regional Government.
Furthermore, Tuesday's Champions League fixtures between Valencia and Atalanta, PSG and Borussia Dortmund as well as Thursday's Europa League matches between Sevilla and Roma, Olympiacos and Wolves and Inter against Getage will all be played behind closed doors. In the same competition, Basel v Eintract Frankfurt has been postponed.
In Italy all domestic sporting events have been cancelled until at least 3 April.
