All set for UCL last 16 draw
Tottenham, Chelsea, Olympique Lyonnais, Napoli or Atalanta.
Barça will be playing one of these five teams in the last sixteen of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League. As group winners, they avoid meeting any of the other sides that qualified in first place, and neither can they be drawn against the team they already played (Borussia Dortmund) or the two runners-up from the same domestic league (Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid).
Barça also get the advantage of playing the second leg at home. The first legs are on February 18, 19, 25 or 26 and the returns are on March 10, 11, 17 or 18.
Basically, there are only three countries that Barça could be going to (England, France or Italy) and just four cities: London (Tottenham or Chelsea), Lyon, Naples or Milan (where Atalanta are playing their Champions League games).
In fact, although you’d expect there to be a 20% chance of Barça playing any of these teams, because of the various conditions, there is actually a slightly greater likelihood of meeting some teams rather than others:
Chelsea 23.3%
Tottenham Hotspur 22%
Napoli 18.6%
Atalanta 18.4%
Olympique Lyonnais 17.6%
It means that altogether there is a fairly high 45.3% chance that Barça will be meeting one of the London teams in the next round.
