Agreement for the signing of Blaz Janc

The 23 year old Slovenian, who has spent the past three seasons at Vive Kielce, will join the club from July 1 and will sign a four-year contract

FC Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Blaz Janc for the Barça handball team, as of next season. The Slovenian, who turned 23 years old on November 20 of this year, joins from Vive Kielce and will sign a four-year deal with the club, through to the end of 2023/24. Janc, who has played his last three seasons in Poland, is 1.85m tall and weighs 85kg.

Present and future

Despite his young age, Blaz Janc has a long career behind him and is established as one of the best talents in European handball. Trained at Slovenian side Celje Pivovarna, he debuted in the EHF Champions League aged just 15 years old in 2012/13. He gained European experience in his homeland club, scoring 67 and 77 goals in two Champions League campaigns there, before joining Kielce in 2017.

Under coach Talant Dujshebaev he has won two Polish leagues and two cups so far. At Barça he will be reunited with Luka Cindric, a former teammate in Poland. Last season he played in the Final Four in Cologne, in which Kielce faced Barça in the third place playoff.

At international level, Janc participated in the 2016 Olympic Games (aged 19) and won the bronze medal in the 2017 World Championships, alongside Barça player Jure Dolenec.
