Barça d'Or
With a sixth Ballon d'Or award for Leo Messi, blaugrana players have now won the prize on 12 occasions, more than any other club
Leo Messi is the king once more. The Argentine was crowned Ballon d'Or in Paris on Monday for the sixth time in his career, more than any other player in the history of football.
An award that means no other player can boast of as many awards in the competition as Leo Messi and that no other club can claim as many Ballon d'Or awards as Barça with 12.
Messi's win on Monday places FC Barcelona one ahead of eternal rivals Real Madrid in the ranking of clubs.
Golden collection
Leo Messi leads the way at Barça with his six victories (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019) then comes Johan Cruyff with his two wins (1973 and 1974) followed by Luis Suárez Miramontes (1960), Hristo Stoichkov (1994), Rivaldo (1999) and Ronaldinho (2005).
