Umtiti joins 100 club
Samuel Umtiti has played his 100th game for FC Barcelona, after playing all 90 minutes in the 4-1 win over Celta at Camp Nou.
The defender, who has been struggling with fitness issues of late, has reach the milestone in his fourth season at the club, which he joined from Olympique Lyonnais in 2016, making his debut as a starter in the triumphant side that won the Spanish Super Cup that year against Sevilla.
In the 99 games that followed that he has even been able to celebrate two goals, both in the league. Now 25 years of age, Umtiti is now a consolidated part of the centre of the Barça defence. But after making 40 or more appearances in his first two seasons, last term he only played 15 due to injury.
Born in Cameroon, Yaoundé but an international for France, Umtiti has also won the World Cup since joining Barcelona, as well as collecting winning the league and the cup twice at club level.
