Barça have won a fourth game in the VELUX EHF Champions, and it was a biggie against Paris Saint-Germain, 36-32. After losing the opener to MOL Pick Szeged, Barça have been on brilliant form and join the French side on eight points.
Aleix Gómez with eight and Dika Mem with sic led the scoring in the Palau Blaugrana, which registered a fine attendance of 4,115 to witness a clash between two European heavyweights.
It was tight, tight, tight until PSG finally edged two ahead on 10-12, but an astonishing 9-3 streak go into the break four up on 19-15.
Another fine streak, 3-0, saw the Catalans expand their lead to eight. Extraordinary stuff. The visitors managed to close some of the gap towards the end, but this was Barça’s day. A glorious performance to keep the European dream very much alive.
