Three debuts and a hopeful start
Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Neto Muraro all made their first appearances in a Barça shirt on Tuesday in the game against Chelsea. Despite the defeat, all three showed signs of their undoubted quality in the game in the Saitama Stadium 2002.
GRIEZMANN: Involved right from the off and almost scored early on with a header from a corner. He linked up well with his team mates and showed his toughness as he came back on after a heavy collision with a Chelsea player. Just before the break he conjured up a great chance for Dembélé to grab the equaliser before making way at half time the second half XI.
NETO: Secure in between the posts in the second half after coming on to replace Ter Stegen, he made an immediate impact saving well from former blaugrana Pedro. An even better save saw the Brazilian keep out a deflected shot that seemed destined for the back of the net. In contrast there was nothing he could have done to stop Barkley's well placed effort for Chelsea's second.
DE JONG: He appeared comfortable in possession after coming on in the second half. Linking up play well, the Dutchman was confident on the ball and showed his talent both going forward and in defence.
