All-time South American XI as chosen by you
The Copa América is well under way in Brazil, and we’ve been celebrating the occasion by asking you, the fans, to pick your best all-time Barça team made up entirely of South Americans.
And what a team it would be, with a mixture of some of the finest players to have ever graced the game, not just in a Barça jersey but in any jersey, and some that are still in action today and are competing to win one of the biggest prizes in international football.
We’re 72 hours into the voting and the team you have picked so far is as follows: Claudio Bravo (Chile), Dani Alves (Brazil), Gabriel Milito (Argentina), Javier Mascherano (Argentina), Maxwell, (Brazil), Arthur (Brazil), Arturo Vidal (Chile), Diego Maradona (Argentina), Leo Messi (Argentina), Ronaldo (Brazil) and Ronaldinho (Brazil).
Curiously, all eleven of your choices so far come from just three different countries. Maybe most users are too young to remember the great Hugo Sotil (Peru), while much as we all love Luis Suárez (Uruguay), it was never going to be easy for him with two such legends as Ronaldo and Romario competing for the same position, while another Barça great, Rivaldo, had it tough being matched up with the inimitiable Maradona.
If you don’t agree with this XI then it’s your own fault for not voting. Make sure you do so NOW!
