Marta Plana presents BIHUB at Barcelona London Day
FC Barcelona director Marta Plana was at Barcelona London Day today to speak about Barcelona Innovation HUB (BIHUB) and the club’s scheme to attract companies and entrepreneurs to develop new technologies.
Plana was speaking on a panel on the subject of Startup & Tech, and explained how one of the goals of BIHUB is to make Barcelona a centre of for the attraction of talent, sport, technology and innovation and for FC Barcelona to become the ‘Silicon Valley of Sport’. She was joined by the CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Carlos Grau; José Manuel Villanueva, co-founder of Privalia; Carlos Trenchs, director of DayOne at Caixa Bank; and Carles Ferrer of Nauta Capital. The discussion was chaired by Mario Rubert, director of promotion at Barcelona City Council.
Third vice-president and commissioner of the Espai Barça project, Jordi Moix, is due to meet different British businessmen together with representatives of CaixaBank, Casa Batlló, Fundació Miró, Liceu, Port Aventura World, Turisme de Barcelona and Value Retail to explain investment opportunities in Barcelona. Jordi Moix will specifically be talking about the impact of Barça on its city and how Espai Barça is set to multiply business and investment possibilities in the city.
The idea behind Barcelona London Day is to present Barcelona as one of the best cities in the world for investment, architecture, design, tourism, culture and science for opinion-makers, investors, media and specialists. The day is organised by Barcelona Global, a private non-profit making association that brings together more than 200 businesses, entrepreneurs, research centres, universities and cultural institutions.
