Of the eight teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Barça is in general the team that has the best stats in the competition so far. As always, the team’s trademark style of play means that they are way out in front as regards possession (69%) and passes completed (84%). Bayern Munich comes in second but a long way behind with 58% and 77%, respectively.

In recent seasons, Barça has also become a team that commits few fouls and this European campaign has been no exception with an average of just 8 fouls per match, well ahead of second placed Borussia Dortmund with 11. In contrast, Barça has received 14 yellow cards and one red compared to Borussia’s 6 yellows.

Real Madrid’s effectiveness in front of goal (104 shots on target) has made them joint top scorers (18 goals) with Bayern, though the German giants, with only 70 shots on target, have been far more efficient. On the other hand, Real Madrid has conceded the most goals (11), a long way from the defensive rigour of Juventus (4) and PSG (5).

After 8 matches, Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Burak Yilmaz (Galatasaray) lead the scorer’s table with 8 goals apiece, ahead of Leo Messi (7) and Borussia Dortmund’s Lewandowski (5). The Turkish striker has scored his 8 goals from just 18 shots on target, a much better conversion rate than Cristiano (41) and Messi (26).
