Facts and figures from the Paris game
The draw in Paris this Tuesday threw up some interesting facts and figures –particularly concerning Xavi Hernadez.
-Xavi’s penalty was the first time he had ever scored from the spot for the Club and was his 12th European goal.
-The game also marked Xavi’s 150th game in European competition, with just five players ahead of him - Giggs, Raúl, Zanetti, Seedorf and Maldini.
-Although he came off injured, Leo Messi still managed to score and chalked up his eighth of this year’s competition.
-The goal was also Messi’s 60th in European games, overtaking ex-Barça stars Henry and Larsson, who both bagged 59.
- PSG’s Matuidi will miss the second leg in the Camp Nou after picking up a yellow. Mascherano’s booking would also have ruled him out - though his injury will mean he misses the game anyway.
- Barça made 696 passes in the game, 620 of them successful against 281 by PSG
- Tito Vilanova’s side enjoyed 64,23% possession, against 35,77% for the hosts.
- Gerard Piqué recovered most possession for Barça, with 11 interventions, followed by Busquets with eight.
