Ter Stegen suffers back injury in training
New first team goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen suffered lumbar contusion during the second of Monday’s two training sessions. The club doctors will examine the extent of the back injury on Tuesday, which should shed more light on his availability for training.
Although Xavi took the full morning session, and Adriano and Neymar joined in with part of it, in the evening, and like Bartra, they concentrated on specific fitness routines.
This left Luis Enrique with 18 first team players for a session that got under way at 6.30 PM CET. These included Mathieu, who didn’t travel to either Geneva or Helsinki, although he has not yet been declared fully fit. Barça B’s Halilovic, Samper, Munir, Sandro and Grimaldo also joined the session.
Meanwhile, Vermaulen underwent physiotherapy, after the Medical Services announced this morning that the Belgian has a hamstring injury sustained at the Brazil World Cup.
