CD Ebro 0–1 Barça B: Superb away win!
Despite being without a number of players because of international commitments, Barça B managed their first away victory of 2019 against CD Ebro (0-1). A Monchu goal just before the break, together with an inspired performance from Iñaki Peña, who saved a penalty in the second half, earned the blaugranes the three points.
Opportunities
The visitors were unable to play their natural game for long periods at La Almozarra, pressure from Ebro consistently forcing them to hit the ball long and high. However, Garcia Pimienta's side still had the best opportunities of the first half. Mujica fired a warning with a shot before Salva stopped one from Monchu. He could do nothing, however, when the Mallorcan scored his second goal of the season after some great individual work (0-1, min 42).
Hero
With the visitors ahead, the hosts had to play on the front foot and this led to the game being much more open in the second 45. With Barça intending to capitalise on the spaces that became available as a result, Mingueza replaced Riqui Puig. It was the goalkeeper, Iñaki Peña, who ended up being the hero, stopping two great chances for Ebro as well as saving Dani's penalty in the 75th minute.
Barça B are now on 42 points and face Terol in their next fixture.
