It's Valencia!

Following the spectacular 3-0 victory at the Bernabéu to reach yet another Copa del Rey Final, FC Barcelona know who stands between them and an unprecedented fifth title in a row. 

It’s Valencia, who beat Betis 1-0 on Thursday night following a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Benito Villamarin, the stadium that will be hosting the final.

So that means Barça will avoid having to play a side with ‘home’ advantage when the game is played on May 25.

Before Betis, Valencia had previously beaten Ebro, Sporting Gijón and Getafe.

Back in Seville 

Barça have not played a cup final in the Andalusian capital since 1925, when they beat Arenas Club de Getxo at Sevilla’s old Reina Victoria stadium. 

Seville was also the venue for that ill-fated European Cup Final against Steaua Bucharest in 1986, which Barça lost on penalties. 

Fourth final versus Valencia

Barça and Valencia are familiar foes in the Spanish Cup, which has changed names many time over the years, having met on 21 occasions, and three times in the final itself:

1952 FC Barcelona 4 Sevilla 2 (Chamartín, Madrid)
1954 Valencia 3 FC Barcelona 0 (Chamartín, Madrid)
1971 FC Barcelona 4 Valencia 3 (Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid) 

A gripping final awaits. Valencia are currently ninth in La Liga but have managed to make life difficult for the Catalans in both meetings this seasons, drawing 1-1 at Mestalla and 2-2 at Camp Nou.
