Barça reach 100 goals this season
FC Barcelona reached 100 goals for the season on Wednesday. The century was reached in the best style possible, with a 3-0 win against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu. Two goals from Luis Suárez and an own goal from Varane gave Barça a place in their sixth successive Copa del Rey final. Furthermore, Real Madrid are the team Barça have scored most goals against this season, 9 in 3 matches, along with Levante.
Leo Messi, the leader amongst the 100 goals
The Argentine has scored 33 goals out of those 100 this season with Barça the third leading goalscorers in Europe’s top league behind Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain. The century was reached in 41 games this season.
At home and in the second half
If we analyse when the majority of the goals have come from we find that 60 were scored at Camp Nou, 38 away from home and two at a neutral venue, Tangier for the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla.
Curiously enough, 60% of the goals have come in the second half, showing that Valverde’s side are effective in front of goal in the final part of matches.
