FC Barcelona with a good record after international breaks
FC Barcelona are just a few days away from having all their international players back from national team duty. After a week in which the European players have been involved in qualifiers for next summer’s Euro 2016 and the South American players have been involved in friendlies, the squad will come back together little by little in preparation for Saturday’s league game against Atlético Madrid.
The numbers say that the percentage of victories following a break for international matches is in Barça’s favour. In fact, during the last five seasons, Luis Enrique’s have only lost once. That defeat came in September 2010 against Hércules in a game that Barça lost 2-0 at Camp Nou. That was five years ago now and since then the blaugranes have recorded 13 wins and just three draws in that time, being held by Real Sociedad (2-2, 10/9/11), Celta (2-2, 30/3/13) and Osasuna (0-0, 19/10/13).
Away from home this time
In the last five seasons Barça have played 10 of 17 games following international breaks at Camp Nou. In seven games away from home, the Catalans have won on four occasions and recorded three draws.
