FC Barcelona aiming to complete a whole round of matches without losing

FC Barcelona on Sunday host the last team to have defeated them this campaign

After a fantastic midweek win against Arsenal, FC Barcelona now turn their attention to their league game against Sevilla on Sunday, who were the last team to inflict defeat on Luis Enrique’s side.

Since the 2-1 loss at Sánchez Pizjuán on 3 October, Barça have embarked on a club record unbeaten streak which stands at 33 matches, 27 of which have been victories.

As a result of this superb run, Barça find themselves eight points clear at the top of the league, in the Copa del Rey final and with one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals.

In those 33 games, Barça have racked up 100 goals (an average of 3.03 scored per game) and 18 conceded. The famous front three of Messi, Suárez and Neymar Jr have been responsible for 77 of the century of goals.

Barça have won 14 of the last 15 matches, with the only draw coming in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Valencia with a 7-0 advantage from the first game.

If they manage to avoid defeat against Sevilla, they will equal Real Madrid’s record of 34 matches unbeaten in the 1988/99 season. Here is a breakdown of the record so far:
