Llagostera edge out FC Barcelona B, 1–0, in pre-season friendly
The FC Barcelona B team fell to its first defeat in three games in the 2016/17 pre-season, going down to Llagostera by a score of 1–0 in a friendly that was played in the beautiful Catalan seaside town of Palamós.
Llagostera. which were relegated to the Second Division B this season and will be one of Barça B's primary foes in the race to move back up, got a lone goal from Cano in the 56th minute to top the Blaugrana squad, which was playing with ten players from the Club's U-19 team.
Ignacio Abeledo made his debut for the team and played 45 minutes, while the youngster Òscar Mingueza also saw his first action with the second team.
After an evenly divided first half that was characterised by missed opportunities at both ends of the pitch, Lee's appearance on the field energised the Blaugrana attack, but his long-range shot in the 51st minute was saved.
Minutes later Cano gave Llagostera a lead they would not relinquish, redirecting a cross from Maynau past FCB goalkeeper Sergi Puig, the first goal given up by Barça B in the 2016/17 pre-season.
A flood of youngsters entered the pitch for Barça and put forth a worthy effort to try and draw back level, but Llagostera hung on to send Barça home with a loss for the first time in the young season.
