Adriano Correia leaves FC Barcelona to join Besiktas
FC Barcelona and Besiktas JK have come to an agreement for the transfer of Adriano Correia for the amount of €600,000 euros, plus up to €1.7m euros more if Besiktas were to qualify for the UEFA Champions League while Adriano's contract is still in force. The Club wishes Adriano the best of luck with his new team.
Adriano began the pre-season with FC Barcelona's first team but did not make the trip to their training camp at St. George's Park.
17 goals in 189 matches
Last season, Adriano extended his deal with Barça until 30 June 2017 but will now join Turkish side Besiktas after six seasons with the club. He joined Barça in 2010/11 from Sevilla after being a key component of the Andalusian outfit. The Brazilian, in his time with Barça, formed part of many successes, scoring 17 goals in 189 matches and winning 16 titles.
The versatile full-back is capable of playing on both flanks, both on defence and on the wings. In his six successful years, he scored nine times in La Liga, five in the Copa del Rey, two in the FIFA Club World Cup and once in the UEFA Champions League. His last goal came in the 6–1 win over Roma last season in the group stage of the Champions League.
Adriano won a whopping 16 titles with the Club: four La Liga titles, three Copas del Rey, two Champions Leagues, three Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and two Club World Cups.
