Neymar Jr. and Rafinha keep Olympic dream alive with win over Colombia (2-0)
Brazil are through to the semi-finals of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games after defeating Colombia 2-0, thanks in large part due to the heroics of FC Barcelona star Neymar Jr.
The Barça forward opened the scoring with a wonderful free-kick within the first 15 minutes of the game, striking the ball through the wall and past Bonilla in the Colombia goal.
Neymar continued to be Brazil’s main source of danger, creating multiple chances and wreaking havoc for the opposition defence with his unmistakable dribbling ability.
The game was wrapped up in the latter stages of the encounter when Neymar put Luan Guilherme through on goal who then chipped the ball past the advancing keeper to keep Brazil’s Olympic dream alive.
Rafinha also made an appearance towards the end of the match, replacing Gabriel Jesus.
Brazil will look to book their place in the final when they take on Honduras in the semis on Wednesday 17 August.
