'Good win but not a decisive win' insists Luis Enrique
FC Barcelona may have a two-goal head start for the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, but manager Luis Enrique insists that 2-0 “might be a good result, but it’s not a definitive one.”
He knows Sevilla will continue to make things difficult at the Camp Nou. “They make things so much harder when they don’t have the ball” he said after the game on Sunday night. “So does their man-marking. It doesn’t make it easy to find passing lines. But I was happy with the team. We changed some things at half time and they came out stronger. They created more chances and got the ball to our forwards with greater clarity.”
He was also impressed with the job being done by Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli. “Every coach tries to implement his own style” he commented. “And I like Sampaoli’s a lot. He wants to win by playing the ball, by controlling it and by playing attacking football.”
The Barça coach concluded by saying that “the whole team played very well. They knew how difficult this game was going to be. We did well both in attack and defence. We are all very excited about his chance to win the Spanish Super Cup, it’s the first big trophy of the season. And if you want to win titles, you need to be ambitious.”
