Barça 38-32 Cangas: Dominant performance from the leaders

The blaugranes win again in the league after a comfortable victory against the Galician side

After the frenetic win in Europe during the week, the FC Barcelona handball team have claimed another domestic league victory, the blaugranes defeating Cangas Frigoríficos 38-32.

Controlled first half

The contest at the Palau Blaugrana began with Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas showcasing his quality, his three saves stymying the Galicians' attack. Carlos Ortega's side took full advantage of the moment to take control of the scoreboard.

Cangas still pushed, however, and the score was 4-4 after eight minutes. Barça continued with the game plan despite the mini comeback and Pol Valera scored five goals almost consecutively to start to open up a gap (17-12 min. 25). Half-time 19-14.

Comfortable win confirmed

Barça stepped it up after the break and looked comfortably in control despite the visitors closing the gap at one point (26-20, min. 41).

The blaugrana coach then gave some young players a chance toward the end of the game, who played at the same high level and even helped extend the lead. Final score 38-32, after Cangas commendably fought to the very end.
