Atlético Valladolid 31-42 Barça: Comfortable win

Carlos Ortega's side win for the fourth time in the league, with keeper Filip Saric making his debut

Another round of fixtures in the Liga Asobal and another win for the Barça handball team, this time by a score of 31-42 against Atlético Valladolid at the Polideportivo Huerta Del Rey. Carlos Ortega's side dominated from early on, Blaz Janc and Dika Mem top scored with six goals each.

Game controlled from early on

Both sides started well, but the blaugranes' quality began to shine through as the game went on. Once the visitors' defence had tightened up, with the goals continuing to flow, the scoreline was 7-14 after 14 minutes. Valladolid reacted somewhat (11-15, min 20), but changes to Carlos Ortega's side quelled any comeback, 15-22 at home time.

Win confirmed in the second half

Barça came out very well after the break, gradually extending their lead to 19-31 after 42 minutes. However, Valladolid improved in defence to reduce the gap slightly to 25-34 by the 50th minute. Again Ortega rang the changes to counter any potential comeback, including Liga Filip Saric coming on for a league debut. Final score 31-42 and another win for current league leaders Barça.
