Porto 38-44 FC Barcelona: Iberian Super Cup winners!

Carlos Ortega's side wins the trophy for the second year in a row

Barça have won the Iberian Super Cup after seeing off Porto in Sunday's final in Viana do Castelo by a score of 38-44.

After a strong start, with the Catalans scoring the first four goals and leading by six early on, the Portuguese outfit held their own for most of the remainder of the game, and even managed to get back to within just one score of an equaliser.

But after Porto had managed to fight their way back into contention with some spirited play, the Dragões were ultimately outplayed in the second half, when the Catalans played some serious, composed handball and eventually ran out deserved winners of what is already the second item of silverware of the season.

The final winning margin of nine points was earned with the likes of Pol Valera, Richardson, Javier Rodríguez and even the young Ian Barrufet all getting playing.
