The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris has come to a conclusion and FC Barcelona, in its capacity as a multi-sport club, has been well represented and rewarded with no less than eight medals; five gold and three bronze.

Jordan Díaz flying high in the triple jump

One of the most memorable moments was Jordan Díaz's win in the men's triple jump during the track and field athletics programme. The Hispano-Cuban jumper recorded a leap of 17.86m to take gold, just two centimetres ahead of his closest rival, Portugal's Pedro Pichardo.

The win in Paris rounds off a great season for Díaz following the 23 year old's win in the European Championships in Budapest with a winning jump of 18.18m, the third longest in history.

Three more golds in men's football

Three footballers, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsí and Fermín López also took gold in France. The trio of blaugranes were all part of the Spain squad that claimed victory with a thrilling 5-3 extra time win over hosts France in the final. Midfielder Fermín made a huge contribution scoring no less than six goals in the tournament.

Emil Nielsen tastes Olympic glory

The final blaugrana gold medal fell to handball's Emil Nielsen. The Danish goalkeeper was part of the Denmark squad that emerged victorious 39-26 over Germany in the final on the penultimate day of the Olympic Games in Paris.

Three more bronzes

Staying with handball, there were bronze medals for Aleix Gómez, Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas and Javi Rodríguez after Spain won the bronze medal match in the tournament over a Slovenia side featuring their blaugrana team mates Blaz Janc.

Mention also for...

Also worthy of mention are those blaugranes who came ever so close to claiming a medal: Cata Coll, Irene Paredes, Ona Batlle, Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Salma Paralluelo and Vicky López came fourth in the women's football tournament with Spain.
