Liga Endesa fixtures announced

Liga Endesa champions FC Barcelona have learned what the road will be to a potential retention of the Spanish league championship after the dates were announced this Thursday:

Derby opener

The very first game will be against Joventut Badalona at the Palau on Sunday 24 September at 6pm CET, while the first away trip will be the Friday after to newly promoted Zunder Palencia. That's a 7pm CET start.

Barça v Madrid

There won't be long to wait for the first Clásico on October 1 at 6.30pm CET, a road game in the third round of matches. The return at the Palau will be at the same time on April 7.

Copa del Rey

Defending champion Unicaja Malaga is hosting the cup this season, where they'll be joined by the seven highest placed finishers at the midway point of the league. The dates for that are February 15 to 18.

The regular season ends on Sunday 12 May with a game at Surne Bilbao Basket, after which Barça will hopefully be competing in the endseason playoffs for the title.
