Surprises and meet ups are always on the cards during a tour. One such meeting took place in Los Angeles, where FC Barcelona are spending the first stage of their United States tour, as Japan captain Maya Yoshida and Oriol Romeu's teammate for five years at English team Southampton (2015-2020) dropped by.
Yoshida, a veteran of three World Cups, managed to grab some time for a chat with his former teammate and new FC Barcelona signing after training. He also gave his thoughts to the Club's media, stating “I am really happy for him, he is a great player, a great person, and we have been friends for a long time. I am sure he will bring something special to the team.”
The Japanese centre back, who will be 35 in August, says he can't wait to see Oriol Romeu play in blaugrana and wishes him all the best for his return to Barça.
